Chery, the well-known Chinese automaker, is expanding its presence in Australia with the introduction of the Tiggo 7 Pro. With a starting price of AU$39,990 ($25,790), this SUV offers an affordable option for Australian consumers.
Three Variants, One Engine
The Tiggo 7 Pro will be available in three different variants in the Australian market. The base model, known as the Urban, starts at AU$39,990. All three versions are powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 137 kW (183 hp) at 5,500 rpm and 275 Nm (203 lb-ft) of torque at 2,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Impressive Features
The Urban variant, despite being the base model, comes with a host of impressive features as standard. These include LED exterior lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, eight airbags, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Stepping up to the mid-range Elite variant for AU$41,990 ($27,080) adds even more features such as a 360-degree camera, auto-folding mirrors, a power tailgate, air quality management system, negative ion air freshener, and a cargo blind.
At the top of the range is the Tiggo 7 Pro Ultimate AWD, starting at AU$45,990 ($29,660). It boasts 19-inch alloy wheels, six drive modes, red front brake calipers, memory mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, ventilated front seats, and a memory driver’s seat.
Dimensions and Interior
The Tiggo 7 Pro measures 4,513 mm (177.6 inches) in length, 1,862 mm (73.3 inches) in width, 1,696 mm (66.7 inches) in height, and has a 2,670 mm (105.1-inch) wheelbase. Sold exclusively as a five-seater, it offers 626 liters (22.1 cubic feet) of cargo space in the rear, expandable to 1,672 liters (59 cubic feet) with the rear seats folded flat.
Inside, the cabin boasts twin 12.3-inch displays and an eight-speaker Sony audio system. Wireless phone charging is also a standard feature across all models.
