Zyrus Engineering makes a carbon body kit for VW ID

Zyrus Engineering is known for its extreme projects and now modifies a Volkswagen van.

ID. Buzz isn't just any Volkswagen. The all-electric van was inspired by the Type 2 microbus, so it was bound to be adopted by enthusiasts. Zyrus Engineering CEO Radni Molhampour wanted to create an entertaining body kit for the EV.

“We are a fun-loving company and like to be different, so we offered this concept to a few of our customers who pre-ordered the car and signed up for the kit we co-designed with BlackfishDesign. We thought it would be a great idea to launch it worldwide as it is such a cool concept for our Z Buzz,” he said.

"Daily driving to school or getting groceries is no longer boring; we bought one and my daughter loves it."

At the back, a carbon fiber spoiler and diffuser reduce weight. All these parts are made of prepreg carbon fiber, including the 22-inch ZWheels with carbon aerodiscs.

Every part is bespoke and handcrafted. Buzz. Zyrus' aero elements can be high-gloss or matte. Buyers can color-match them to their van.

“Electric mobility need not be boring with this new carbon fiber kit,” the company writes.

The "Z Buzz" kit costs €11,900 ($12,277 USD) and the wheels cost €4,999 ($5,157 USD). Early 2023, all parts will be sold separately.
