VW Tiguan Allspace Adventure Special Edition

The VW Tiguan Allspace is a long-wheelbase variant of the regular Tiguan, which is only available in most markets outside of the United States in a seven-seater, three-row configuration.

However, the Tiguan Allspace Adventure, which drops the third row for more cargo space while adding some extra kit for adventurers, has just arrived in Australia.

Starting with the most important feature of the Allspace Adventure, the boot has a capacity of 760 liters (26.8 cubic feet) with all five seats in place, which is 60 liters (2.1 cubic feet) larger than the seven-seater Allspace in the same configuration due to the removal of the third row.

The model appears to be a facelifted Allspace, with the longer rear doors revealing the stretched 2,791 mm (109.9 inch) wheelbase. The Adventure trim adds 17-inch Dublin alloy wheels with higher-profile tires, LED headlights and taillights, and black cladding on the lower bodywork.

The SUV also has a 180-amp alternator and a larger capacity battery suitable for powering appliances while camping, as well as an underbody guard for added protection. VW also offers accessory packs with features such as snow chains, all-weather floor mats, sun blinds, a tough boot liner, and a load protector.

Progressive steering, sport suspension, three-zone climate control, heated cloth seats, wireless phone charging, a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro instrument cluster, and an 8-inch touchscreen for infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, navigation, voice and gesture control are all standard features.

The standard IQ is the same as in other facelifted AU-spec Tiguans. Drive's ADAS suite includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and other features.

The top-of-the-line turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder petrol engine produces 217 hp (162 kW / 220 PS) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque in the Adventure trim. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and VW's 4Motion system send power to all four wheels.

The VW Tiguan Allspace Adventure is reserved for the Australian market, with 1,000 units offered initially starting from August 2022. The special edition is priced at $51,990 AUD ($37,428), making it cheaper than the seven-seater Elegance and R-Line trims with the same engine.
