Volkswagen Multivan Dark Side Edition Gains Fold-Out Bed

Dark trims are becoming a trend across bodystyles and segments. The new VW Multivan "Edition" looks sportier than ever. VW announced a "Good Night" package that turns the van into a lite camper.

Deep Black Pearl Effect finishes on the grille, roof, and mirror caps match the 18-inch black Toshima alloy wheels. VW added "Edition" decals on the profile and tailgate, tinted windows, and darkened LED taillights to the IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights.

Pure Gray, Candy White, Energetic Orange Metallic, Indium Grey Metallic, Mono Silver Metallic, and Reflex Silver Metallic are among the exterior colors available.

Multivan Edition equipment falls between Life and Style. It has sliding doors on both sides, five, six, or seven seats, and two lengths (4,973 mm and 5,173 mm). The Multivan silhouette with Edition lettering appears when the doors open.

VW's digital cockpit, an eight-speaker audio system, six USB-C charging ports, air conditioning with a passenger heater, and ADAS like Intelligent Speed Assist are also standard.

VW's "Good Night" package includes a fold-out bed and a "blackout option." While not as extensive as California's full-fledged campervans, this treatment makes the Multivan more suitable for camping trips. VW didn't include camper conversion package photos yet.

The VW Multivan Edition is available with gasoline (1.5 or 2.0 TSI), diesel (2.0 TDI), or PHEV powertrains and a seven-speed DSG transmission. The model costs between €51,747 ($51,756) and €57,465 ($57,475) in Germany; the electric model's price has not been announced.

The new Multivan trim will be shown at the IAA Transportation Show in Hannover from September 19 to 25, and can be ordered online. The new Amarok, the Caddy Maxi Dark Label in CNG-burning TGI flavor, and the fully electric ID will be on display at Hannover. Buzz/ID. Buzzcargo.
