BMW published a single photograph of the Label Red BMW XM before its 2019 introduction. The Label Red will be the super SUV's flagship model, with an enhanced plug-in hybrid powertrain that will make it the most powerful non-electric crossover.

Red accents are not available on the basic XM. They include red around the front kidney grilles and red side window surrounds, which are normally gold but may be blacked out with BMW's Shadow Line package.

BMW's XM Label Red includes wheels with black spokes and red accents. XM's grille badge is now red. The German company claims the red and black color scheme continues inside, "drawing attention to precise details."

The company hasn't fully disclosed the XM Label Red, but it has confirmed that it will have more power than the ordinary model, which produces 644 horsepower at 5,400 rpm and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque between 1,600 and 5,000 rpm.

Changes to the 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 and the electric motor in the eight-speed automatic transmission provide the XM Label Red 738 horsepower and 735 lb-ft of torque.

It's not known how much faster the XM Label Red will go off the line with the extra power, but the ordinary model hits 60 mph in 4.1 seconds, so a speed under 4 seconds is likely.

The XM Label Red will be more expensive. The XM starts at $159,000 plus a $995 destination and handling cost, while the Label Red starts at $185,000.
