Porsche Tequipment has launched a roof tent for adventurous Porsche owners.
The 911, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera, and Taycan tent has two side windows and a roof window. The tent floor measures 210 cm x 130 cm (82.6 in x 51.5 in) and has a high-density polyfoam mattress.
Weather doesn't always cooperate when you want to go camping. The Porsche roof tent has water-resistant zips and an entrance rain cover.
Porsche says the tent can be opened by unlocking the safety latches, lifting the hardcase, and using gas pressure shock absorbers. The floor can be folded up and stabilized with a telescopic ladder. With the four poles, erect the tent.
The black/light grey or black/dark grey hardcase has a matte black Porsche logo. A Porsche Tequipment inner tent, heated blanket, and shoe and bag organizer are in development.
The roof tent works with the 911 GT, Cabriolet, and Targa. Roof tents limit top speed to 130 km/h (81 mph).
It costs €4,980 ($4,989), which isn't cheap but isn't surprising considering it's a Porsche product. It's cheaper (and more useful) than some Porsche watches.
