MG's New Mulan Triumph Edition Is a 449-HP Electric Hot Hatch

MG Mulan Triumph Edition is a high-performance variant of the MG4 all-electric hatchback.

In markets outside China, the MG4 is offered with a 168-hp, 184-lb-ft electric rear motor or a 200-hp, 184-lb-ft electric rear motor (250 Nm).

The hatch's new flagship edition, confirmed for China and (presumably) the UK, has more power.

Under the MG Mulan Triumph Edition's skin is a dual-motor powertrain with all-wheel drive and 449 hp and 442 lbft (600 Nm) of torque.

MG says it will hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds and have a range of 285 miles (460 km) under Chinese testing procedures.

The Mulan Triumph Edition should excel in many ways. The hot hatch boasts torque vectoring and beefed-up brakes with orange calipers, but details are unknown. All four corners have 18-inch wheels with 235/45 Bridgestone tires.

Interior improvements were also performed. The most obvious update is Alcantara sports seats with 6-way motorized adjustment and 2-way lumbar support. The steering wheel is Alcantara.

Other inside features include a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, 10.25-inch infotainment display, an air purification system, and a 360-degree surround-view camera.

Unknown pricing and availability for the MG Mulan Triumph Edition.
