GM's Wuling Xingchen is a sub-$15,000 hybrid SUV in China

SAIC-GM-first Wuling's hybrid vehicle, the Xingchen, is now on sale in China for $14,459.

A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and 100-kW electric motor power the Wuling Xingchen (134 hp). The manufacturer hasn't released combined horsepower and torque estimates, but says the SUV can go 0-60 in 3.2 seconds.

Fuel-efficient SUV. Wuling says it gets 51.1 mpg in the city and 41.2 mpg on the combined cycle.

The Xingchen's external design employs 'wing-moving aesthetics' Front has a black grille and sharp headlamps. Separate fog lights and a chrome skid plate are present on the SUV.

Rear triangle taillights are joined by gloss black trim. The Xingchen is 4,954 mm (195 inches) long, 1,820 mm (71.6 inches) wide, and 1,750 mm (68.9 inches) height, with a 2,750 mm (102.8 inch) wheelbase.

Customers will love the interior. 8-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch infotainment display, flat-bottom steering wheel.

Wuling's 'Ling OS' offers over-the-air updates. Second-row seats tilt back 14 degrees, and a panoramic sunroof can enhance luxury.
