GAC M8 is a luxury MPV with a huge grille

GAC introduced the second-generation M8, a full-size Chinese minivan to rival the Buick GL8. The vehicle offers luxury, tech, and spaciousness with petrol, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

The production-ready GAC M8 isn't as futuristic as the New Space minivan concept, but it's more premium than its predecessor.

GAC names the Lexus-style grille "Soaring Wings 2.0" Thin LED headlights are inspired by a lion, like Peugeot's teeth, while the prominent skirt conveys sportiness.

The minivan includes small wheels, a greenhouse, and sliding doors. The bodywork is more contoured than similar models. Massive tailgate with LED taillights, chrome skirt, and back wing.

The GAC M8 is longer, wider, and taller than its predecessor, with a 3,070 mm wheelbase (120.9 inches).

The interior's design, materials, and tech are the biggest upgrades over the previous version. 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. High-mounted center console gearknob matches ambient illumination.

There are two cabin themes: black and white and "Royal Opera" with crimson, gold, and white. Seatbacks and door panels are upholstered with Cantonese embroidery and semi-aniline leather.

The folding third row and sliding second row convert the seven-seat MPV into a four-seat mobile conference room.
