China raises Polestar 2 price $4,300

Due to rising raw material costs, Polestar is raising the price of its only model in China. The company will review the price increase before the end of the year.

The two cheapest Polestar 2 models saw a $4,300 price increase (at current exchange rates). The most expensive car now costs $2,900 more.

The single-motor entry model was RMB 299,000 and qualified for EV subsidies. Due to the price increase to RMB 329,800, buyers can no longer apply for incentives, as China's price threshold is RMB 300,000.

Dual-motor long-range Polestar 2 will cost RMB 358,800, or $50,420 at current exchange rates. This model has 300 kW of power and 660 Nm of torque, 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, and 565 km NEDC range. WLTP is 480 km.

The Polestar 3 SUV will be unveiled on October 12 and produced in China and the US next year. Here's more: Polestar's O2 prototype received such a positive response that the company decided to produce it in limited numbers. 500 Polestar 6s were sold on the spot, with 10 going to China.
