After 58,000 reservations, Fisker may increase Ocean SUV production

The automaker planned to produce 50,000 Ocean SUVs annually.

Henrik Fisker recently announced that more than 58,000 reservations and orders have been placed for the Ocean and that it secured 5,000 orders for the Fisker Ocean One launch edition model in just 30 days after its July unveiling.

Henrik Fisker: "The global enthusiasm for the Fisker Ocean is humbling." “Test vehicles are rolling off the line at Magna's carbon-neutral plant in Graz, where we're working to expand production beyond 50,000 units per year. We're also considering U.S. manufacturing to meet growing demand. With our disciplined spending, strong cash position, operational flexibility, strong supplier relationships, and diversified, high-line-of-sight potential revenue stream for the first year, we're full speed ahead.”

Henrik Fisker said the company expects 80,000 Ocean reservations by 2022. Magna Steyr's Graz, Austria production facility will start on November 17, 2022.

The contract manufacturer has 55 Fisker Ocean prototypes and is testing them before customer car production begins. Two prototypes recently arrived at Fisker's California headquarters.

Fisker confirmed that it had $851.9 million in the bank at the end of Q2, saying it "continues to deliver and execute against its business plan"
