2023 VW Amarok Teaser

2023 VW Amarok Teaser

Volkswagen will be getting an extended playing time with the release of the Amarok pickup. The mid-sized truck was teased as early as March 2020, via sketch. As bits and pieces, little by little, the German brand has begun teasing specifics, and the latest version comes as a quick video that shows the truck's rear end.

You can check out the embedded social media post below to see the teaser video. However, VW has just officially confirmed that the Amarok will be equipped with a V6 TDI engine. This isn't surprising, but it's unclear whether this six-cylinder model will be a genuine VW TDI or a relic like that of the 2023 Ford Ranger.

In relation to the Ford Ranger, another element in the teaser trailer that resembles the latest Ranger is the wordmark stamped on the vehicle's rear. The taillamp graphics that are LED are also featured in the clip.

Additionally, it was revealed that a previously released Amarok teaser confirms that optional LED headlights with matrix (dubbed IQ Lights) will be offered.

These lights produce around 900 lumens in the updated VW Polo, which is nearly double that of standard headlights. These LED headlights in the matrix are available for the 2023 Ford Ranger, as we discovered in our first-drive test using the Blue Oval truck.

Transitioning to the Ford T6 platform, the brand new Amarok is 100 millimeters (3.93 inches) longer and 40 millimeters (1.57 inches) wider than the previous version. The payload capacity has been raised to the equivalent of 2,645 pounds (1,200 kilograms), and the towing capacity is 7,716 pounds (3,500 kilograms).

There are five trim levels: Style, Base, Life, Panamericana, and Aventura. The wheel sizes will vary based on the model and range between 17 and 21 inches. In addition, the Amarok's information system will work with Ford's SYNC4 system and will be available in 10.112 and 10.1 inches, as well as an 8-inch digital driver's screen.
