2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV costs $41,190 and has 248 horsepower

Fourth-generation Mitsubishi Outlander was redesigned. Even the plug-in hybrid was redesigned. Mitsubishi will begin selling the Outlander PHEV in select US regions in November for $39,845, minus destination charges.

Hawaii and Alaska destination fees are $1,470, while continental US fees are $1,345. The Outlander PHEV now costs $41,315 and $41,190.

Mitsubishi achieved 54 miles (87 km) of all-electric range on the European test cycle. The SUV's US range is 38 miles (61 km). The carmaker claims the SUV can go 674 kilometres on a single charge and tank of gas.

The Outlander PHEV has a 2.4-liter Atkinson cycle engine and two electric motors. 248 hp (184 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) are combined.

Previous Outlander PHEV had 221 horsepower (165 kW). The new SUV's 350-volt, 20-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack improves range by 40%. In 38 minutes, DC fast charging can refill an SUV to 80%.

The SUV has a 14.8-gallon gasoline tank and Super All-Wheel Control. The front wheels are powered by the engine and an electric motor, while the rear wheels are electric. Mitsubishi's Active Yaw Control will be included.
