2023 Lamborghini Urus S Debuts With Performance, New Look

Lamborghini debuted the updated Urus Performante at Pebble Beach in August.

This new S variant replaces the popular basic Super SUV. Sant'Agata Bolognese will sell two flavors of LM002's spiritual descendant. It's a more subtle Performante alternative. As discreet as a Lambo.

The Urus S receives the same improved twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine with 666 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. It loses less weight than the Performante, thus it's slower.

The Performante takes 3.3 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 km/h), while the S needs 0.2 seconds more. 190 mph (305 km/h) remains the top speed.

The Urus S can reach 200 km/h (124 mph) in 12.5 seconds. The Performante and S will compete with the Aston Martin DBX and Bentley Bentayga Speed.

The mid-cycle update adds matte titanium 22-inch wheels and diamond bronze 23-inch wheels to Lamborghini's best-selling model. You can also choose a carbon fiber roof and matte or glossy black exhaust tips instead of brushed steel.

The 2023MY adds a matte-black stainless steel underbody and a carbon fiber bonnet with matte-black air intakes. Optional trim might be dark or glossy or matte carbon fiber. Two-tone leather upholstery and bicolor accents are inside.

Lamborghini will electrify all its models by 2024, but there's no word yet on a hybrid. The Urus could feature a plug-in hybrid arrangement developed on the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.
