It has two M1-style roundels on the back, but that's about it. As with all M cars, the XM sports stacked quad exhaust tips to set it apart. Wide taillights match the muscular body and flank a big XM badge with a gold contour.

The first M product with a PHEV arrangement has a charging port on the left-front fender, like the next-generation M5. BMW's S68 engine is a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with mild-hybrid technology. The combustion engine produces 483 hp at 5,400 rpm and 479 lb-ft of torque at 1,600 rpm.
