2022 Ford Bronco Raptor a DetroitAutoShow Showstopper

The Ford Bronco Raptor is one of the most exciting vehicles at the Detroit Auto Show.

Ford calls the color Eruption Green Metallic. We think it looks great on the powerful off-roader in Detroit.

The exterior features black accents, including the Raptor's wheel arches, grille, roof, and wheels.

Ford decided not to equip the Bronco Raptor with a big V8 like the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 and instead used a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 with 418 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque.

That's more than the 2.3-liter EcoBoost Bronco's 300 hp and 325 lb-ft (440 Nm) and the 2.6-liter EcoBoost V6's 330 hp and 415 lb-ft (562 Nm). The Wrangler Rubicon 392 has 52 hp and 30 lb-ft (41 Nm) more.

The Bronco Raptor isn't just about its powerful engine. Ford has added new shock towers, control arches, and larger inner and outer tie rod ends to increase wheel travel.

The off-roader has FOX dampers that monitor each wheel's height hundreds of times per second. Various chassis improvements double body-in-prime torsional rigidity.
